MACOMB — What started as an at-home hobby for Heather Phillips has become a family business six years later.

Heather Phillips, owner of Phillips Signs and Graphics opened the store Wednesday, January 26 at 325 W Adams St. A Macomb native, her husband, Patrick, bought a bigger vinyl machine and she started doing vinyl jobs. Her 14-year-old daughter, Markie, helps.

Phillips makes apparel, and does sublimation or heat transfer on vinyl, screen printing transfers and sublimation on just about anything: cups, key chains, vinyl decals, big vinyl signs and also printed vinyl.

“I've been busier with borders; lots of people want custom shirts, and signs, of course are a big thing,” she said.

She also states she has competitive pricing. “I've heard a lot of people say we are pretty cheap, actually.”

The turn around for sublimation is typically 24-48 hours, with signs typically taking a week at the longest.

Phillips Signs and Graphics is open Tuesday – Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
